Sarah McDermott
Licensed Architect and Project Manager
Education: BARCH from Oklahoma State University, 2014
Started at Horizon Line: November 2020
Sarah is a licensed architect and project manager who is especially drawn to projects that create meaningful impact in local communities. She enjoys taking on new and unfamiliar project types, embracing the challenge of learning as she goes. Known for her ability to dig deep, Sarah excels at researching code, uncovering answers, and finding thoughtful, well-reasoned solutions to complex problems. She approaches her work with open-mindedness and a steady, supportive presence, helping teams navigate challenges with clarity and care.
Some of Sarah’s proudest moments come from seeing firsthand how the firm’s work affects the people it serves. Attending a fundraising event at the MLK Center in Muskogee and witnessing the community’s emotional connection to the building HorizonLine helped create reaffirmed why she does this work. Outside the studio, Sarah is inspired by travel, history, and experiencing different cultures — and on weekends, she can often be found wearing full medieval plate armor and training as a soon-to-be professionally certified stunt fighter for film and television. Grounded, curious, and quietly formidable, Sarah brings both heart and rigor to everything she does.
